About This Author

James A. Harnish is pastor of Hyde Park United Methodist Church in Tampa, Florida. He has authored numerous books, Bible studies, and articles. Jim and his wife Marsha have two grown daughters. In his free time, Jim enjoys reading, walking, cheering for the Gators, relaxing by the lake and playing with the grandchildren. Like Timothy (2 Timothy 1:5), Jim received the faith from his mother and grandmother. He says the most important thing he does at Hyde Park is to “lift the vision of God’s call on the life of this church, preach the Word, and be faithful in prayer.”

He earned his BA at Asbury College, and MDiv at Asbury Theological Seminary. He has received honorary doctoral degrees from Asbury Theological Seminary-Orlando and Bethune-Cookman University.
