David N. Mosser

Rev. David Neil Mosser is senior pastor at First United Methodist Church of Arlington, Texas.

David grew up in Independence, Missouri. He attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas and received a master's of divinity from the Perkins School of Theology. David later received a PhD in Rhetoric from the University of Texas in Austin.

David has served several parishes in Texas. Earlier in his career, he taught at the Gbranga School of Theology in Liberia, West Africa, coincidentally an area where his Arlington congregation over the years has been involved in missionary work.

David represents the church in the community by serving on the city's Neighborhood Revitalization Strategy Area Steering Committee, which works to rebuild the city's distressed communities. He also serves on Arlington Memorial Hospital's Medical Ethics Committee.

When not at the church leading Bible studies, David often is in the classroom. He is an adjunct professor at Perkins and teaches a multicultural introduction to philosophy class and introduction to ethics at Navarro College in Midlothian. He has been the editor of the Abingdon Preaching Annual as well as author or editor of seventeen books.

David has been married to Helen Segerstrom since 1984. They have three children and two grandchildren. They live on ten acres in Midlothian, where Helen raises horses.
