John K. Yambasu is the United Methodist bishop of the Sierra Leone Area in Africa. Born in southern Sierra Leone, he studied at United Methodist mission schools and graduated from Candler School of Theology in Atlanta.

Yambasu served churches in Moyamba and Freetown before he focused on Christian education and youth ministry. He founded and led the Child Rescue Centre in Sierra Leone until he became a regional missionary.
