Rev. Dr. Judy Fentress-Williams is Professor of Old Testament at Virginia Theological Seminary and Assistant to the Pastor for Teaching and Preaching at Alfred Street Baptist Church.
Dr. Fentress-Williams earned her A.B. in English from Princeton University, her M.Div. from Yale Divinity School and her Ph.D. in Hebrew Bible from Yale University. She is passionate about equipping Christians to be critically engaged readers of Scripture and uses a dialogic approach to interpret the Bible. She is married to Kevin Williams, M.D., and they have two children, Samantha and Jacob.
