Kenneth H. Carter, Jr. is president of the Council of Bishops of The United Methodist Church and serves the Florida Conference area. He served as one of the moderators of the Commission on a Way Forward. His most recent book is Embracing the Wideness: The Shared Convictions of the United Methodist Church. He’s the author of ten other books, including Pray for Me, A Way of Life in the World, The Gifted Pastor, and Near the Cross. He formerly served as senior pastor of Providence United Methodist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina.
