Bishop Kenneth L. Carder is the Ruth W. and A. Morris Williams Distinguished Professor Emeritus of the Practice of Christian Ministry at Duke Divinity School, and he serves as caregiver of his wife Linda and volunteer chaplain at Bethany, the memory care facility in the retirement community where they live. He is author of the forthcoming Abingdon Press book on caring for persons with dementia through a pastoral theology lens.
