The sermon I planned to give

July 14th, 2021

“It was a humdinger of a homily. It was a sandstorm of a sermon. It was full of passion and prophetic power…It was the sermon I planned to give,” begins Father Michael Renninger, pastor of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Richmond, Virginia. However, after being prompted to read the passages again, he continues, “That…is the problem. Anger…you can always find a long list of things to be angry about.” Today’s passages, Jeremiah 23:1-6, Ephesians 2:11-22, and Mark 6:30-34 and 53-56, show another way to handle that anger. “Come to Christ…who is peace.”
