No Plan B

October 13th, 2012

Usually I can wait in line because I like people watching. But today I was in a hurry to get coffee and get to work. Standing in line an album title caught my eye Born To Sing: No Plan B.

So what were you born to do?

Praise and worship God, no brainer, me too. But what else? I remember someone said “if you can do anything other than full time ministry do it.”

So what about Plan B?

We are all called to ministry, full time ministry may be another story. Like me, if you’ve been in full time ministry you may have trained to preach (or teach) only to find yourself spending a lot of time just being with people and less time preaching and teaching. These days, I'm learning the art of just being with people.

My call to ministry and specifically teaching hasn’t changed for years. The settings and groups have, but not my call. Teaching is what I'm passionate about. I love to learn and I enjoy helping other people learn and grow spiritually. For me there is no plan b. The full time has been replaced by the part time but I'm still in ministry and you are too.

So what were you born to do? And more importantly, are you doing it?
