Bare Bones Communion

What is really essential for a communion liturgy? How much of the story do you need to tell before serving the loaf and cup?

Forgive my (Jessica's) gaffe in implying that unchurched people all have short attention spans. All I know is that I sure do, and the theologically-rich communion liturgy of our church feels long and lofty even to theologically-educated me. But what would be the least you could say without leaving people confused about the ritual in which they are participating?

Listen and weigh in with your opinion! At the 20 minute mark, Matt asks me to compose my ideal communion liturgy on the fly—and the results surprised us both!
