God Hears Every Language

September 22nd, 2013

Whenever you cry out to me, I'll answer. Psalm 91:15 CEB

Remember the Upper Room on the Day of Pentecost. Many languages were spoken, and although the human ear could not understand, there was no doubt that God understood every one of them.

We live in a time when we are surrounded by many sounds and languages. Some we do not understand, and some we choose not to hear. Our faith tells us that God loves and cares for all God’s children, and regardless of the language God hears our cries.

Some prayers have the advantage of litany and prose, while others are uttered with poor syntax. Some are sung, while others are spoken. Some are spoken aloud, while others are uttered in the deepest recesses of our hearts. Some are prayers of thanksgiving and praise, while others are cries for help and deliverance. Whatever the language, whatever the reason, it is comforting to know that God hears every language.

Continue to pray, my sisters and brothers. Be assured that God does understand.
