The whole armor of God
This week’s passage from Ephesians 6:10-20 “…sounds like every call to arms that anyone has ever made. There’s a compelling call to unity, a clear identification of the enemy, an urgent description of what is at stake, and finally a call to prepare for battle…” says Chuck Treadwell, Rector of St. David’s Episcopal Church in Austin, Texas. However, instead of traditional tools of combat, the writer implores hearers to put on “truth, righteousness, faith, salvation, prayer, and connection to the Spirit.” These are the tools that lead to “peace, love, reconciliation, and concord.” Which armor are you wearing?
