The way we pray

January 22nd, 2022

Are you satisfied with your prayer life? Would you be surprised to know that, according to one survey, very few Protestant ministers are satisfied with their personal prayer lives? Dr. Jim Somerville, Pastor of Richmond's First Baptist Church and co-founder of A Sermon for Every Sunday, preaches a sermon from Luke 11:1-13, Luke's version of the Lord's Prayer.

Somerville, when describing his prayer life, said, "All I really needed [to improve] was a decision, some discipline, and a guide to prayer." Jesus gives this guide to the disciples in today's passage. Listen and learn more about the Lord's Prayer and how it can guide our own prayer lives.

This sermon is from A Sermon for Every Sunday, a series of lectionary-based video sermons designed for use in worship, Bible study, small groups, Sunday school classes or for individual use.
